- Biffle to test at Texas World Speedway: on SPEED's NASCAR Preseason Thunder show on Wednesday, #16-Greg Biffle said he and his team were going to Texas World Speedway on Thursday, January 15th, to test the 2-mile superspeedway and see how it measures up for a test track in 2009. Biffle didn't say if other Roush teams/drivers would be part of the test.(1-15-2009)
~Jayski GM is testing 14 of their cars at the Proving Grounds, so it's good to see that RFR is not falling behind.

| Biffle says he ran 218 mph at Texas World... - Quote :
- DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With testing banned at NASCAR-sanctioned tracks this season, Sprint Cup teams have had to look high and low for appropriate places to test, especially high-speed superspeedways.
Driver Greg Biffle and his Roush Fenway Racing team may have found one – though it might be too fast. Biffle and his No. 16 team tested their Ford this week at Texas World Speedway, a 2-mile track that last held a Cup race in 1981. The track in College Station, Texas has more or less been dormant since, but Cup teams could start using it again. Biffle had a piece of advice for drivers who test there: Hold on to your hats, for it’s fast. “We're the first team that's tested there … in the new era,” Biffle said. “Very fast. A little bit bumpy, which is to be expected of a race track that the pavement is that old. But just very fast place. It's kind of a fun race track.
“But our cars today are probably pretty dang fast for a race track like that, fastest I've been in a race car before, 218 mph at Texas World Speedway. That's getting her done, if you want to say.” Biffle said he had an average lap of 195 mph, which would have been five mph faster than the fastest pole-winning speed last year, 190.907 mph by Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Texas Motor Speedway. ~Scene Daily~ Wow - that's fast!

| If NASCAR still ran there, I'm sure they would use plates. | |
