ARCA team to attempt Daytona 500

ARCA team to attempt Daytona 500: BlackJack Racing, an ARCA RE/MAX Series team from 2005-2007, plans to attempt to make the Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500. The team will use the #51 and run a Dodge. BlackJack Racing has one Nationwide Series start at Memphis Motorsports Park in 2006. BlackJack Racing will field an ARCA RE/MAX Series entry for driver Dexter Bean at Daytona next month. Looks like there will be quite a few teams going home from the 500. Hopefully we'll be able to get full fields once they head out west to Fontana and Vegas...

Anybody listen into the ARCA website this afternoon while practice was going on.

Terry Jones really surprised me! Most of the practice times were single cars, as they were setting the cars up for qualifying and a few that made it to the top were timed while practicing in the draft.

Anyway Terry Jones turned in the 5th fastest time of the single cars, I just thought those of us on here that are Canadian might be interested. If memory serves me, last year he did pretty good too, the 2 yrs prior he missed out both times by one position in qualifying. He was a guest on Race Talk Radio the other night, apparently he has the CAW (Cdn. Auto Workers) on board as an associate, so I have to cheer for him now.

JR Fitzpatrick was saying, his car isn't fast on its own, but assures us it's fast in the draft! He was fast last December in tests at Daytona.[
