As we all know, I'm pretty hard on Yates and the way the organization has fallen off, but then again, some of it has to be on the driver's they have had the last few years.
Three past drivers were in the field today, they weren't in Yates equipment, and they still didn't do anything.
David Gilliland, in Gibbs great equipment had the best finish of the three, but was still a below average 29th. Two of his teammates in Gibbs equipment finished in the top 8.
Bobby Labonte came in 31st. He went from a terrible Yates organization to an equally bad, if not worse ride. His part time teammate didn't even make the race, so I guess he gets credit for being the best of a bad duo of cars. I don't think he can be successful in a one car team in today's NASCAR. Of the former Yates drivers, he is the only one desirable enough to have a ride secured for next year.
Travis Kvapil had a rough day coming in 37th. I don't know if he has a ride set up for next year.
