- Schrader to run in Bud Shootout? hearing that NASCAR Sprint Cup veteran driver, Ken Schrader, who won the Bud Shootout in 1989 and 1990 [and is now eligible to run the race] will drive the #82 Red Bull Racing Toyota in the 2010 Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway on February 6th. Schrader became eligible for the race when the eligibility requirements were changed recently.

| Wow it's been 20 years and he's still eligible? Sorry, I think there should be some kind of cap on how long drives can be eligible for some of these things. 20 years is just too long.... same goes for Past championship provisional ~JMO | |

| I have no problem with Kenny being out there, he can't POSSIBLY do any worse than Scott Speed. Schrader actually takes racing seriously. | |

| There is something of a time limit on the deal - you have to have attempted at least one race in the past 2 seasons in order to be eligible. Kenny attempted races in 2008, so he's eligible based on that.
BAM Racing is back, and Kenny drove for them for some time - could we see him return to fulltime/parttime Cup with BAM after the Shootout?

| I don't like the new rules. I think they should have just kept the rules they had last year. But I also agree Schrader can't do any worse than Speed.
Bill Elliott may run the 6 for the Shootout too.

| They couldn't keep the same rules. Dodge doesn't have enough cars for those rules - the field would be smaller than NASCAR wanted it to be...
This change had to happen, just like it had to change from the pole winners... sometimes change is inevitable and I think this is one of those situations.
