good for him! wish he was still with ford though, anyone know the whole story behind that. like why he left ford, i know he was full-time for NW & running part-time for the woods. then he moved to JTG racing. at some point they split (the woods & JTG) & he moved to toyota but they still shared the same shop....IDK but it was odd. i was in the hospital at the time the whole thing was going on. he has proved to be a pretty good driver so far.

When the Wood Brothers split with JTG, JTG retained Marcos' contract. After the split, JTG decided to make a change to Toyota, and Marcos stayed with them.

Really wasn't a decision by Marcos, but one by the Judy & Tad at JTG/Daughtery Racing... actually, I think Brad Daughtery might have had a lot to do with the move.

oh, ok. i thought marcos was always a ford guy, but you gotta do what you gotta do & if marcos was getting a better offer from daugherty then he had to take it. hes doing quite well

he's sure getting lots of sponsors- he shouldn't be worring about sponsors

He did always drive Fords in Austrailia, but I guess he wasn't actually under contract with Ford, just happened to be driving one.

My understanding Marcos was under contract with Ford. The above quote is from Marcos' web site WBR and JTG split (friendly) early 2008 (both with Ford) and shared the same shop. Woods at that time only had a Cup and Truck teams and JTG had Truck and 2 Busch teams and were starting part-time in Cup. Since Marcos was driving in the Busch/Nationwide series he was under contract with JTG. Prior to the split he was scheduled to run some Cup races for the Woods. Somewhere along the line both Ambrose and JTG's contracts was up with Ford. It could have been Ford, Ambrose and/or JTG that didn't renew. (?) idk
JTG/Daugherty (2009) switched MFG's to (Toyota). JTG only shared space with the Woods when they were under Fords contract. 2009 they joined in partnership with MWR.
