Burger King to sponsor Stewart

Stewart-Haas Racing announced Wednesday that Burger King has signed a multiyear sponsorship agreement with the organization, beginning with the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

The sponsor will be featured twice as the primary paint scheme on team co-owner/driver Tony Stewart's No. 14 Chevrolet - at Daytona International Speedway on July 4 and at Dover International Speedway on Sept. 27.

"I am extremely happy to welcome Burger King Corp. to the team and really proud to be associated with such a great brand," Stewart said. "This demonstrates another important step in getting Stewart-Haas Racing ready for the season."

Stewart-Haas Racing, which absorbed Haas CNC Racing at the end of 2008 Cup campaign, will field two cars in 2009 – Stewart’s No. 14 and the No. 39 of Ryan Newman.

Additionally, Burger King will become the exclusive quick-service restaurant sponsor of Eldora Speedway, the dirt track Stewart owns in Rossburg, Ohio.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
