Interesting discussion on This Week in NASCAR tonight...
Quote :
Steve Byrnes: Should NASCAR re-open testing so that the teams can get additional information and track time?

Chad Knaus: I think opening up testing would help the little teams and the sport in general.

Michael Waltrip: I disagree, it costs too much money and wouldn't help anything. And I also don't think you care about the little teams. You're just thinking: 'Oh, yeah, if I get to test we'll be even better.'

I agree with Knaus; they should allow testing. It has hurt the racing and allowed Hendrick to gain a bigger advantage this year, IMO. If testing was allowed, Roush, RCR, and lots of other teams will catch up.

I agree with Mikey. Laughing <he nailed that one> Wink
The little team can't afford it. It will only benefit the big teams.

But on the other hand opening up testing might get the Cup guys out of NW. They invaded when NASCAR changed the testing rules. ~JMO

hmmm choices choices choices, who do I side with? well testing or no testing the big teams are still testing- small teams can't afford to test but they still would

if NASCAR could truely ban all testing, maybe that would help

Here's my idea allow the same number of test sessions, regardless the number of cars in a team. I'd say like four tests a year. 1 for each member of a team if it is full

this is a hard one to call because there is no right answer

If the smaller teams could afford testing, then it would be a definite yes. Everything in NASCAR is just too expensive these days...
