| Some quotes from VP of Competition, Robin Pemberton: - Quote :
- I think we've had great competition this year.
False. Ask anyone who is a fan of a driver other than Jimmie Johnson, and you will clearly see that the competition has NOT been anything close to "great." On start and parkers: - Quote :
- We have always seen, throughout the years, a number of people who don't intend to run all the laps of a race. Or if they don't run all the laps of a race, it's OK with them. It isn't something that just came up. I saw it in the 1980s; I saw it in the '70s. And I've heard about it in other times.
Right. Seems like to me that '03 or '04 was the first year that start-and-parkers came into the sport on any kind of full scale. The NW Series now has 10-15 start and parkers every week. That seems like a problem, not something to brush off. You can read the full interview HERE. He says absolutely nothing that shows that NASCAR has any idea what the fans want. Sounds very much like they're just moving full steam ahead with no regard to issues plaguing the sport. | |

| usually those guys seem to be doing things stupid YEAR- the competition has been atleast ok if you were HMS affiliated and not Jr. Other than that who had a good year? JPM, Vickers, Rudy- and that's by their standards not in comparison to others HMS has dominated as a whole- Jimmie didn't until chase time as usual | |

| If he thinks the competition has been good, he needs help. Other than HMS, nobody can even challenge for the championship. And on the start-and-park thing, he is obviously clueless. Yes, there have been start-and-parkers of some scale in those days, but it wasn't a routine like it has been this year. | |
