NW: Townley not approved, Kvapil in 09 at Daytona

Does John Wes have some kind of symptom keeping him from racing at 2-mile tracks or something?

He just does not have enough experience on the big tracks for NASCAR to approve him. He is going to run the ARCA race at Daytona and plans to run the remainder of the NW schedule with the 09 Zaxby's Ford.

Did you watch any of the races he ran last season? He needs experience.

He did struggle quite a bit in some of those races; he even missed a couple because of wrecking in qualifying. It is good to see him getting the experience in the NW Series with a new team, though.

I smell a Brian Conz story...

I belief he is related to one of the execs at Zaxby's, he's not going anywhere.

(And, for those who don't know, Brian Conz was supposed to drive the 34 NW car a few years ago. NASCAR did not approve him for Daytona, and he was never heard from again.)

I knew he had some kind of Zaxby's connection. I just didn't know how? It pays to be related

To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to him last season.

He did a good job in the ARCA race last night, though.

UPDATE

Thanks to Jon Wes Townley's impressive 4th place finish in the ARCA Re/Max race at Daytona, NASCAR has reversed their prior ruling, and will allow Townley to drive the #09 for RAB Racing in the Nationwide Series race at Daytona.

wow one good finish in that wreckfest made him ok enough? you coulda ran at towards the back all day and gotten a decent finish if you would have missed all the wrecks in that mess
